Careless, Dangerous or just plain stupid?

A great friend of mine who is in the driver supply business has sent me a couple of press articles, which I have to say have got me thinking whether the people we allow to travel on our roads should really be there at all.

In my line of work I have seen some licences with more than the normal maximum of 12 points, but this guy really takes the biscuit.

This guy should have been banned for life in my opinion, but you never know he may have learnt his lesson.  If he worked for you you have to ask yourself, would he have told you he has been banned?  How do you keep track of whether your staff can legally drive?

I was also sent this link

Now I have gone on record to say that Sat-Nav is better than using a map during your journey, but it is a tool not an instruction device.  You should always have planned your journey in advance, and if you are driving a Large Vehicle you should have ensured that you can get your vehicle along the route you are intending to take.

As an employer you must ensure that your drivers are using the techology you provide in a sensible and safe manner.
