December 6th 2008 – Weather Planning

This morning was a bit of a tun up for the books as we normally advise drivers against travelling in poor weather and especially snow.  Now clearly Father Christmas and the reindeer are better geared for snow than any of our other clients, so again we are doing something new.

We are looking at green issues and global warming later in the week, but I did get chance to discuss the potential lack of snow with Santa and apparently it is not an issue for him.  It appears that the magic that allows him to fly also makes the sleigh travel with ease on all surfaces, like the were snow and ice.

I also discussed with him whether he needed to consider the time it takes to stop in poorer weather and road conditions, at this point he let loose with a jolly Ho-Ho-Ho and had the elves get the sleigh and the reindeer ready for a flight.

Now I remembered the mood that Comet was in on Thursday, so I stayed well away from him, but he seemed rather cheerful.  I soon found out why, we were going on a test flight for my benefit.

I can confirm that Santa and the reindeer can perform some interesting flight manoeuvres with the sleigh and it stops really quick if necessary, I have the bruises to show for it.  No wonder Comet looked so happy!
