Risk Management – Getting FREE Accident Management

When considering Risk Management, it does not matter whether you ‘use’ 5 or 5,000 vehicles in connection with your business you should always have an Accident Management company in place to manage your vehicle accidents for you.

The Accident Management company will take the initial call from the driver, arrange for a repairer, book in the vehicle, manage the repair, arrange for a replacement vehicle, contact the third party and collate all the data for you.  This will allow you to concentrate on running your business, whilst a team of professionals get your vehicle back onto the road for you.  The Accident Management company will also ensure that the repairers used are quality approved and the repair will not compromise your Risk Policies.

The best thing about this set up is that any Accident Management company you use should provide you with this service at no cost to you.  The Accident Management companies earn a revenue from the bodyshops that do the repairs on the vehicles, so if they are charging you as well they are earning a double income for doing the work.  The only service you should be paying for is Uninsured Loss Recovery and typically this is between 10% and 15% of the recovered sum.

Uninsured Loss Recovery is the process of recovering the costs incurred by you for non-fault accidents, this will include hire vehicles, diminution of value of the vehicle,  repair costs and any other losses you incur.  This can be quite a long drawn out process and it is therefore justified to pay the Accident Management company a fee for all their hard work.

You should be getting your Accident Management company to provide you with a monthly report detailing which vehicles and drivers have had collisions, the number of days the vehicle was off the road for, the cost of the repair, the fault and a code for the type of collision.
