I have just had renew the Vehicle Excise Duty on my wife’s Ford Fiesta and as in previous years I chose to do it online.
The process is really easy and the only two documents you need are the V5 and the reminder notification from DVLA. The checking of your insurance and MOT (if required) is done automatically through the MID and DVLA’s own database. Best of all it is environmentally friendly as I didn’t have to drive to the nearest Post Office that deals in Road Tax.
The whole process took me no more than 10 minutes on-line and the tax disc arrived in the post within 48 hours. Top marks to DVLA for an excellent service.
You can also complete a Statutory Off Road Notification online too, if your vehicle is off the road.
