I am currently ploughing my way through a weighty consultation document that has been issued by the Department of Transport titled ‘A Safer Way: Making Britains Roads the Safest in the World’.
The consultation is looking at the ways in which we can all work together to reduce the number of people killed in road collisions, which is currently about 3,000 every year. There are some interesting ideas in the document which I shall discuss here before I finally respond to the consultation at the end of June this year.
I shall post my thoughts here and I would welcome the opinions of you the readers as part of my response.

This morning I am attending the ACFO North West regional meeting at the Lancashire Health & Racquet Club, which is this time being sponsored by Kwik Fit Fleet.
We support these meetings because they are the lifeblood of ACFO and are great opportunity for fleet managers and industry suppliers to share best practice and discuss what is new in the world of vehicles.
The fleets represented at the meetings vary from sub ten vehicle fleets through to fleets with in excess of 1,000 vehicles so there is a broad spectrum of knowledge, skills and experience to be drawn upon.
Personally I learn something new at each and every meeting. If you would like to attend a meeting in your area visit www.acfo.org and you will be made very welcome.
