Can you see the point?
I was watching a TV advert last night for a firm of opticians and it reminded me of something that I do, but I wonder how many other drivers are doing it too.
Like many people I need to wear glasses at all times, which includes driving. I have to be honest and say I am really short sighted so it is essential that I wear them at all times.
So when I need new glasses I always order two pairs partly so I have two styles, but the main reason I have two pairs is so that I can always have a spare pair in my possession whilst driving. In some countries it is a legal requirement to carry a spare pairs of glasses, but that is not the case in the UK. It is however illegal to drive a vehicle with uncorrected defective vision. If you break your main pair of glasses or damage them in any way, how are you going to get home without putting yourself or someone else at risk.
So my suggestion to you is this – take advantage of the offers the opticians are making and get a second pair, but keep them in the car with you, just in case.
As I regularly say – Why take the Risk?
