Getting your vehicle repaired correctly
The car manufacturers have been working for years to build safer vehicles which are also light and environmentally friendly. This has made motoring safer, but has generated a whole new set of challenges for the vehicle repair market.
The problem is that the motor manufacturers have started to use complex materials such as Boron Steel, plastics and adhesives. This means that the bodyshop repairing your accident damaged vehicle cannot just weld in a piece of metal as this would compromise your vehicles safety should you be involved in another collision.
Because of the need to maintain future crash worthiness any business which uses vehicles must also ensure that the repairer is capable of doing these repairs. In this are businesses are rather lucky as there is now a British Standard for repairers to operate to. The standard know as PAS 125 basically means that the repairer has the systems and skills to return your vehicle to its pre-crash state, so you know that if you crash again the vehicle will work correctly.
A word of advice for all business owners, if you need to get any vehicles repaired make sure that you get them repaired at a BSi PAS 125 approved repairer then should there be a future problem with that vehicle then you will have done everything you can. You will also be able to satisfy the requirements of any Risk Policy and be protected from prosecution under Corporate Manslaughter Legislation.
