Just when I thought I had seen it all
Any regular visitor here will already know that there is little that shocks me on the roads, but quite a lot that depresses me.
I have to tell you that on Wednesday afternoon I saw something that shocked me so much that I am still reeling from it now, it was an act of such stupidity that had I not seen it with my own eyes I would not have thought it remotely possible.
I was driving around Manchester on the M60 on my journey home and it was relatively quiet. I was checking my mirrors as I always do and I a saw, what I would describe as a ‘rep’ car and it was weaving within the lines of lane 3. On the second look I noticed that he was on a hand-held mobile phone, but he kept looking down as well.
At this point I decided that discretion was the better part of valour and this idiot would be better in front of me, where I could see him. So I moved over and let him accelerate past me, as he cam past is when I saw the most stupid thing I have seen in a very very long time.
As this idiot passed me he had a mobile phone in his right hand and a mobile phone in his left hand and he was comparing information on them at 90mph on the outside lane of the M60!
I hate to troll out the line, there is never a Police car around when you want one and I was not able to safely take down this guys registration number.
The moral of the story – be very careful out there because this idiot might be behind you.
